The secret is out. WE LOVE TO EAT. And even better, we love to eat at EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival. With over 70 new items on the menus, there's something for everyone - even the pickiest of eaters!
Now we have very similar, yet very different palates when it comes to flavors. So we outlined my favorites and Stephanie's favorites from this year's menu release.
Karen's Top 5 choices at EPCOT's International Food & Wine Festival
Cowboy Mac and Cheese
Mac and Eats - (Near Mission: SPACE)
This had to have been my favorite last year. So much so, that I went back 3x! It's got a nice kick, but not enough to make your eyes tear. Trust me, get two!
Macaroni and cheese with Smoked Pork Belly, Brisket Burnt Ends, Pickled Peppers, and Onion Straws.
Teriyaki Chicken Bun
Japan Pavilion
These buns are so good! They're light and fluffy with the perfect amount of filling. My only regret was only getting one, and I ate it so fast that I never got a picture of it.
Steamed Bun filled with Chicken, Vegetables, and Teriyaki Sauce
Carrot Cake
Hops & Barley (American Adventure)
Fresh and right-out-of-the-oven-warm this is one of my favorite desserts at the Festival! Pair it with a steamy cup of Joffrey's coffee and you've got the perfect late-night snack.
Freshly Baked Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing
Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup
Canada Pavilion
I hit the trifecta in Canada! Okay, so we know that we're in Florida, and it's hot. But IYKYK! This soup is everything! If you like pretzels and cheese, you cannot go wrong. Try it, you'll be glad you did.
Canadian Cheddar and Bacon Soup served with a pretzel roll
Wild Mushroom Filet
Canada
You had me at Filet. Perfectly cooked and somewhat hearty, this is a great late afternoon snack. Add the soup and pretzel roll for a full meal!
“Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with truffle-butter sauce
Frozen Apple Pie
Canada
Dessert or Drink? It's both actually. The Frozen Apple Pie is layered with cinnamon apples at the bottom, apple slushie in the middle and topped with a pie crumble.
(Okay, so I have six. This wasn't an easy assignment!)
Stephanie's Top 5 choices at EPCOT's International Food & Wine Festival
Braised Beef Poutine
Refreshment Port hosted by Boursin (Near Canada)
I can admittedly eat Garlic Cheese with a spoon every day and not get tired of it. Add French Fries, Braised Beef, and Gravy? This girl is in gourmet Long Island Diner heaven! Disco Fries - if you know you know!
French fries, Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese Sauce, cheese curds, and gherkin relish
Takoyaki
Japan
Now, this is a new addition for this festival, but having had versions of it in the past I'm beyond excited to give this one a try. I am the only person in my house that eats seafood so festivals are an exciting way to try new variations.
Octopus, green onion, and cabbage bites topped with tonkatsu sauce, bonito flakes, and nori
Dessert Raclette
The Alps
Last year I tried the Raclette over baby potatoes and it was my first Raclette experience. Ever since, I have sought it out everywhere! And I don't even like swiss cheese. Mixing it with the sweets in this years dessert Raclette may be one of my first stops.
Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Riesling-poached pears, red wine-braised figs, candied pecans, honey, and cranberry toast
Beignet aux Trois Fromages
France
If you're not noticing a cheesy pattern here.....
These absolutely melt in your melt but still have so much richness in the cheese you don't feel short changed in flavor.
Warm beignet filled with three cheese blend
Kenyan Coffee Barbecued Beef Tenderloin
Kenya (Near Refreshment Outpost)
I would eat just about anything smothered in this Kenyan Coffee Sauce. It had the perfect balance of bold, rich coffee flavor with a hit of Kenyan spice that left you wanting more.
Kenyan Coffee Barbecued Beef Tenderloin with sweet potato and corn mealie pap and kachumbari slaw
Honorable Mention from us both- because let's face it, if you don't like this we can't be friends! NEW for 2022!
Fry Flight
The Fry Basket (Near Test Track presented by Chevrolet)
You've had beer flights and wine flights, but have you ever had a Fry Flight?! Okay, so we haven't tried this... yet! But trust me, it's on the top of the list!
Sea Salt and Malt Vinegar Fries (Plant-based)
Barbecued Bacon Fries with smoked aïoli
Sweet Potato Casserole Fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream, and caramel whisky.
Drooling yet? Yeah that was the goal! Now let's get you to this festival so you can make your top 5 list. Check out the full menu here.
